High Power Electric Transmission Line Updates

HIGH POWER ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION LINE UPDATES:
This update comes to us from the Beautiful Perry group who is working to raise awareness about the high power transmission line expansions, along with actionable steps landowners, townships and counties can take to try and help prevent or mitigate the damage these expansions would cause.
Hello all,
A lot is going on with so much to learn and do!
These are some tasks that could be done now:
1. Check out what Franklin County is doing (Chambersburg) https://www.ctpfc.com/ Darryl Lawrence from the PA Advocate was asked for recommendations on our next steps, and he recommended that we check out the Franklin County coalition group, which is seeking to stop the Transource transmission line in their county. They are well organized and have already been through a war on the first part of the Project, which failed; they are now facing the second part. 2. Listen/ watch a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) meeting. This is very slow but has some important insights on what the federal government is prioritizing. We believe this is the hearing that your comment below will be "heard". We are still trying to figure out all the legal steps. https://www.ferc.gov/news-events/events/july-16-2026-open-meeting-10082025 3. Make a Comment to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) regarding the Krammer-Junita line: According to a notice published July 16 in the Federal Register (link below), the Department of Energy and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) intend to conduct a hearing on the Krammer-Juniata Project. The notice indicates interested persons have 21 days (until August 6) to respond by filing a notice of intervention or motion to intervene if they want to be heard. https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/07/16/2026-14340/kammer-juniata-transmission-llc-notice-of-institution-of-section-206-proceeding-and-refund-effective
